SchoolPilot Exam for Windows
CBT that keeps going when the internet doesn't.
Download SchoolPilot Exam and lock your computer lab's PCs to the paper. If the internet drops mid-paper, candidates keep writing: every answer is kept on the PC and sent when the line is back.

What you need
Nothing you don't already have.
The lab PCs you already have
Any lab computer running Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. No server, nothing new to buy.
Internet to start a paper
Each PC needs a connection when the paper opens. After that it can drop and come back: nothing answered is lost.
An invigilator PIN
Set when the app is installed. Only the PIN closes the app or changes the school, so candidates stay on the paper.
Your SchoolPilot account
Papers come from your school's question bank and results go back to it. CBT and the exam app are included in every plan.
How it works
Install once. Then a dropped line is just a pause.
- 1
Install on each lab PC
Run the installer, enter your school code and an invigilator PIN. For a whole lab, it can install silently with both set.
- 2
Candidates sign in and sit
The PC shows only your school's portal, fullscreen: the paper, a countdown, and every answer saved as it is chosen.
- 3
The line drops? Keep writing
Answers wait on the PC and send when the internet is back. A PC that restarts in a power cut reopens the paper where it stopped.
- 4
Marked and on the broadsheet
Objective answers are marked automatically; theory goes to the teacher. Scores flow into the broadsheet.

Questions
Before you install
Does the exam need internet?
To start, yes: the paper opens from your school's portal. After that the internet can go and come back. Answers are kept on the PC, the paper still ends on time, and everything is sent when the line returns.
What happens if a lab PC goes off mid-exam?
When it comes back on, the app reopens the paper on that PC with the answers already given, even with no internet, and the clock carries on.
Can candidates leave the paper?
The window is fullscreen with no address bar, and closing it needs the invigilator's PIN. Switching to another program with Alt-Tab isn't blocked; it is recorded for the invigilator instead.
What does the exam app cost?
Nothing extra. CBT and the exam app are part of every SchoolPilot plan, with no per-exam or per-candidate fees.
Can we use it without a SchoolPilot account?
The app opens your school's SchoolPilot portal, so you need your school on SchoolPilot. Book a demo and we'll show it to you running.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is that safe?
Check the file first: its SHA-256 checksum should match the one on this page. If it does, choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
How do we get a newer version?
The app tells you on its top strip when a newer version is out. Download it from this page, which always serves the newest one.
Want to see a paper run in your own lab?
We'll show you the exam app on a call, and help your ICT teacher set up the first exam.
